Within 24 hours, the family members will receive financial support, as confirmed by District Magistrate Vishal Bhardwaj.Earlier on Tuesday, Yogi Adityanath, sent his sincere condolences for the deaths brought on by lightning strikes in the districts of Azamgarh and Ghazipur.

These guidelines emphasize addressing issues arising from rainy conditions and adhering to established maintenance standards. M Devraj, Chairman of the Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Limited (UPPCL), has also issued specific directives for preventing accidents during the monsoon season, especially involving outsourced personnel in the electricity department. Strict compliance with these orders has been emphasized by officials, and training sessions for outsourced workers are being promptly scheduled in each distribution location via the Discoms at the divisional level.

The government has mandated electrical employees involved in distribution to exercise caution and implement special safety measures to mitigate accidents, as local faults become more frequent during the rainy season, elevating the risk. Furthermore, severe legal consequences await any official found negligent if their actions result in an accident.

The regulations outline the requirement for safety equipment at each 33/11 KV sub-station, which includes helmets, gloves, pliers, safety belts, earth chains, and safety shoes, as per established safety standards for outsourced workers deployed by the outsourcing agency. This ensures that every team possesses the necessary equipment for conducting line work.

According to the instructions, it is the responsibility of the chief engineer, superintending engineer, executive engineer, assistant engineer, and junior engineer in the distribution area to inspect the safety equipment at residential properties, ensure its availability, and guarantee its provision by the outsourcing company. The respective chief engineer must communicate this information to the corporate headquarters through their discom. If the outsourcing company fails to provide the required safety equipment, the accountable superintendent engineer will face consequences.

Furthermore, the responsible officials must ensure that contracted personnel utilize the provided safety equipment. Additionally, they have mandated proper arrangements for the comprehensive care and treatment of injured workers, as well as the prompt payment of their compensation in accordance with the requirements.
